Undyed pedigree Boreray yarn, grown by our sheep in Wales and spun in a small batch in Dorset. This yarn is slightly coarse and would be best not directly next to skin, but knits up beautifully and has a unique natural grey colour.

Nestled in the valleys of Mid Wales, we have a small farm with sheep kept only for their fleeces – never sold for meat. The Boreray have been with us for a few years, and are full of character! Boreray are one of the UK’s rarest native breed sheep and currently listed as an RBST Priority rare breed, and we have around 20 with us on the farm. Originally from the Isle of Boreray, they are hardy sheep and well suited to our Welsh hills and cold winters. Only relatively recently domesticated, they are a shyer sheep – though many are now brave enough to eat out of our hands! Every year our sheep are carefully shorn, and some of the fleeces they have grown sent for spinning to make this yarn.
